The path to reach it winds through the rows of vineyards of Azienda Agricola Maria Bortolotti, which since 2000 has remained steadfast in its commitment to a natural approach, in harmony with the rural ether of the estate. A philosophy that is reflected in the cuisine, which for nearly eight years has been entrusted to Alessandro Atzori and Annalisa Lobosco. In this wonderful and pure white house, they have found the time, space, and inspiration to freely develop ideas in daily contact with the expressions of Mother Nature.

La Roverella is open only from Friday to Sunday, welcoming guests into a bright, artisan-crafted space with large windows overlooking the garden, which in the warmer months offers even more intimacy and detachment from the frenzy of everyday life.

This is not your typical agriturismo: it reinterprets the concept by shedding atavistic ties to tradition and the overused formulas shared by many in the area. Instead, it is a cuisine that thinks clearly and instinctively, guided by chef Atzori’s sensibility and aligned with what is available each week, primarily vegetables.

Every seven days, the menu—composed of five courses for €40 excluding wine—renews itself, reconsidering the previous offering in terms of freshness, textures, and techniques. Here, the chef’s distinctive touch stands out. The dishes often feature divergent acidity, minerality, crispness, and a minimalist use of ingredients. The experience always begins with freshly baked bread, showcasing stimulating results in leavening methods.

In the cellar, in addition to the house wines labeled Maria Bortolotti, there’s a thoughtfully curated selection of other petit vignerons from both Italy and abroad.

Annalisa, with her boundless grace and touching attentiveness, provides an essential contribution to the overall wellbeing of the guests. Visitors even come from abroad, thanks in part to the restaurant’s notable inclusion in the Slow Food Guide.
