Bottiglieria Vini Belli has made a strong entrance on Via Saragozza in just fourteen days, firmly establishing itself in a neighborhood that is increasingly vibrant and attuned to good wine. Alongside long-standing venues and newer, craft-focused realities, Vini Belli raises the bar even higher. Behind the project is Bottiglieria del Borgo srl, already well known for its work between Via d’Azeglio and the Mercato delle Erbe, now settled into a spacious and finally stable location, enhanced by a successful, light-filled restyling.

The space is designed to experience wine throughout the day: a shop open from morning, tastings, an open kitchen and a convivial dining room. Hospitality is one of its strengths—warm yet well organized—with a smiling, efficient service. The wine selection focuses on non-conventional Italy and France, supported by an intelligent by-the-glass program and prices rarely found in the city, capable of having a tangible impact on Bologna’s wine scene.

The kitchen, led by Matteo Iadanza—shaped by his time alongside Lorenzo Vecchia yet clearly personal in its voice—engages in constant dialogue with the wines through artisanal suppliers and a strong vegetarian inclination. Dishes change monthly, alternating more resolved plates with others that can be tuned in terms of texture and salinity: sharp contrasts, acidity, umami and well-balanced sweetness. Excellent cured meats and cheeses, a few less striking dishes, but an overall balance that convinces.

The venue moves fast, always full, attracting a clientele attentive to natural wine and the vegetarian focus of the menu. Costs—from aperitivo to a full dinner—are extremely competitive, encouraging the opening of great bottles. Just two weeks after opening, Vini Belli has already become a gathering point for producers, industry professionals and enthusiasts alike, promising to become a solid, long-term reference for the city’s food and wine scene.
