For over thirty years, Cantina Bentivoglio has been Bologna’s leading jazz club. According to the prestigious American magazine DownBeat, it ranks among the world’s top 100 jazz clubs—a recognition backed by impressive numbers: over 290 live performances a year, six nights a week. The venue has successfully combined top-tier jazz programming with traditional cuisine, hosting legendary artists such as Lucio Dalla, Gaetano Curreri, Phil Woods, Wynton Marsalis, Bobby Durham, Paolo Fresu, Albert Tootie Heath, and many more. Today, Alberto Armaroli continues to curate the lineup with passion, ensuring a seamless transition between generations while preserving the club’s identity.

A diverse crowd of night owls, jazz lovers, celebrities, and groups of friends fill the two spacious dining areas, which together accommodate over 200 guests. The venue features a cozy dining room adorned with contemporary artwork and magnum wine bottles on display, as well as the atmospheric underground music hall. Running such an ambitious culinary operation requires consistency, which is guaranteed by chef Pasquale Troiano and a dedicated team of sfogline who craft fresh pasta on-site to maintain authenticity.

Notably, the restaurant serves one of the best tortellini in brodo in Bologna. Other standout dishes include poached egg with walnut crumble and caramelized pears on taleggio fondue, mortadella mousse with handmade tigelle, pumpkin tortelli with amaretto and aged cheese, Sangiovese-braised beef with Parmigiano-infused polenta, traditional meatballs, and seafood options—reflecting the chef’s commitment to local flavors.
