Under the striking plane tree at Palazzo Dondini Rusconi, which overlooks the church of San Francesco, a relaxed crowd gathers during the warmer seasons, carried by an Adriatic sea breeze—often led by the Bartolini family. Although the building is bright, contemporary, and refined, many diners have been drawn from its opening by the restaurant’s strong association with one of the Adriatic coast’s most renowned maritime brands—a second home for many Bolognese.

Andrea Bartolini has merged three concepts between Cesenatico and nearby Milano Marittima: La Terrazza Chic, the Michelin-starred La Buca showcasing fresh, locally sourced seafood, and an Osteria replicated in Bologna. The restaurant’s crisp fried mixed fish (paranza) serves as an authentic and reassuring signature dish, consistently delivering high-quality results from trusted local fishing boats. Diners appreciate the classic character of the recipes, the carefully curated wine list of about fifty selected labels, and the overall warm service. Although the busy kitchen sometimes faces challenges in meeting the high expectations set by the brand, the excellent quality-to-price ratio and friendly smiles in the dining room ensure that any minor issues are easily smoothed over.
