After years spent working in some of Bologna’s most popular neighborhood bars, Daniele and Mattia have successfully revived a historic local spot. Located on the elegant Via Laura Bassi Verratti, with convenient parking, Il Cartolino is one of the few “outside the walls” cocktail bars offering a refined and creative experience that goes beyond the typical after-work menu.

Here, patience and care make all the difference. The two friends alternate between the kitchen and the shaker, welcoming guests in a cozy, intimate space where service is always personal.

The kitchen offers an international tour of tapas and street food classics, focusing on ingredient quality — from Podere Cadassa cooked ham and fontina toast to croque monsieur, brisket and mustard sandwiches, Wagyu burgers, and a curated selection of cold cuts and cheeses that is constantly evolving. Their philosophy values both local sourcing and “kilometer one thousand” excellence.

The bar’s calendar comes alive with events, wine tastings, and themed spirit nights, featuring local craft beers, selected sparkling wines, and creative cocktails that reimagine and reinvent 1990s icons with contemporary flair.
