ristorantedalucia.itThe harmony and connection between Lucia Leone and Rosario Varriale are reflected in the cuisine of Ristorante Enoteca Da Lucia, a refined and atmospheric venue that has been part of Bologna’s dining scene since 2017, attracting both locals and tourists. The couple’s shared vision blends restaurant and wine bar, land and sea, creating a balanced culinary experience.
Originally located on Via dei Falegnami, the restaurant’s intimate setting led to the search for a larger space, now found in the former Trattoria Scaccomatto on Via Broccaindosso—away from the city’s tourist chaos. Chef Rosario’s cooking focuses on harmony, calm, and flavor balance, offering a sea-and-land menu marked by precision and inclusivity.
Attention to ingredients, contemporary preparation and cooking techniques, and thoughtful plating complement an atmosphere inspired by Parisian bistros, where warm tones and cosmopolitan materials create a cozy, romantic evening setting.
Highlights include a tender, lightly seared scallop with broccoli cream and crispy guanciale—an emblem of the restaurant’s style—while the sweetbread with Jerusalem artichokes and cardoncelli mushrooms is less convincing in texture. Among the pastas, a signature dish is the “bottone” filled with liquid cacio e pepe, paired with raw shrimp, bisque, and sea asparagus for a subtly marine profile.
On the meat side (notably the lamb, when available), Mediterranean memories and Bolognese tradition come together, as in the pork neck with a perfectly reduced jus, creamy potatoes, and turnip greens—distinct yet harmonious sides. Desserts show finesse, with milky freshness and graceful sweetness. The wine list, featuring around a hundred labels, caters to all palates.
